Gran Vía Mar, Castelldefels Sports Club

The management team at Gran Vía Mar Sports Club in Castelldefels trusted Tribeka Retail‘s professional expertise and know-how to carry out a comprehensive re-design of its image

The challenge we faced was much more than a re-styling, as we had to work whilst the centre was open. It didn’t close for a single day… Piece of cake! This is the norm in the retail sector, which demands both functional and beautiful results, delivered on time and adapted to our clients’ commercial needs.

Our mission was to breathe a breath of fresh air into the sports centre, updating and improving its image as well as optimising the functionality and operability of its different spaces, from the reception area to the changing rooms, staff offices and gym floor.

One of our most important considerations was, beyond the layout, to make the spaces more comfortable by integrating aspects that were often invisible, such as quality windows and doors, and lighting designed to make the best possible use of natural light.

A natural and sophisticated change

The mission was for the Gran Vía Mar Sports Club in Castelldefels to convey a sense of elegance and exclusivity. To achieve this, we worked with natural and noble materials such as stone and glass, as well as grooved wood cladding.

The main change –and perhaps the most noticeable one– was the furniture. Furniture always takes centre stage. It must, however, be in keeping with its setting.

Here are some of the other refurbishments proposed by Tribeka Retail, which have already been carried out in the Castelldefels Sports Club:

Offices:

We moved the offices to a previously unused area with great natural light. Similarly, we chose to create interior windows with metal frames to improve both visibility and communication between departments.

Lighting:

Although we already had a great amount of natural light to play with, on this occasion, we also installed a versatile system of magnetic lighting rails with warm light projectors. This allows staff to adjust the lighting depending on the effect they want to create in summer and winter.

Communication with members:

We gave the centre a digital “touch” by installing LED screens that allow staff to display class timetables and other information for members. Modernity goes hand in hand with sustainability, and the centre certainly saves on printing leaflets thanks to this addition.

The facilities’ new aesthetic and layout was also accompanied by a new logo that reflects the centre’s corporate image. It is on full display at the custom-designed main reception counter.

This is everything we have done for now. But we are still working on an all-round refurbishment. So far, we have worked on the reception and fitness room, and by summer the changing rooms will be as good as new. We’ll keep you updated!
